How we compare
// We're not replacing your AI coding assistant or your docs tool. We're the missing layer between them — the persistent context that survives every session boundary. This comparison shows what each tool does by design, not by workaround.

FAQ
What counts as a "message"?
One AI response = one message. On Free you get 50/mo — enough to experience the workflow. Solo and Team have no message limit. Heavy users pay only for API tokens via their own keys.
Can I use my own OpenAI / Anthropic keys?
Yes — on any plan. Connect keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Groq, Mistral, DeepSeek, or local Ollama. We never mark up API costs. The platform fee covers OneHandover, not the tokens.
What happens when I cancel?
Your projects, handovers, timeline and files are always yours. Export everything before you leave — or just drop to Free. No lock-in, no hostage data. This is non-negotiable.
Is there a free trial on Solo and Team?
Yes — 14 days free, no credit card at signup. You only enter payment details when the trial ends and you want to continue.
How does the Team plan work for more than 5 people?
Team includes 5 members. Each additional member is +$8/mo (or +$6/mo on annual billing). For teams larger than 20,
contact us — we have custom arrangements.
Is self-hosting available?
Yes. OneHandover runs on a standard VPS (Ubuntu, Flask, SQLite/PostgreSQL). Contact us for self-hosted licensing. Enterprise customers can deploy on their own infrastructure with full data sovereignty.
Who built this?
OneHandover was built in 38 sessions by Piotr Pawel Wacek and Claude Sonnet — a human architect and an AI builder. Every feature was designed to solve a problem we hit ourselves while building it. More in
Claude's Blog.
